I found a couple of articles about Prof Craig Ritchie, the first was very optimistic in 2022 followed by an article in May 23, 'After 33 years he is leaving the NHS, The Sunday Times reports, lamenting the "tragedy" that radical new drugs are not finding their way to patients.' I hope things have improved since then. I will have to do further research. Regarding your proposition, I think there is no doubt that you have been embracing the aesthetic since a young age so I would think all that art has indeed, helped your brain and will continue to do so βΊοΈ. Regarding children and young adults, I think there are so many 'soft' skills that could be included in their education, the power of creativity and exposure to art forms being one, understanding and managing emotions and mental health being another. I think encouraging creativity in young people is a really good idea as it can help them to problem solve, open up their imaginations and express themselves in healthy ways. It's also a way to learn about the aesthetics of other cultures. What do you think?Jane E Porterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02306313988404372242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7565221901190342741.post-70319654903119241292024-03-15T11:41:26.987+00:002024-03-15T11:41:26.987+00:00I'm glad you are enjoying the blog and thanks ...I'm glad you are enjoying the blog and thanks so much for leaving a comment, it's very helpful.<br />Jane E Porterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02306313988404372242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7565221901190342741.post-64076666548890179412024-03-14T09:32:51.257+00:002024-03-14T09:32:51.257+00:00great blog, thanks for drawing these threads toget...great blog, thanks for drawing these threads together and sharing so succinctly. The neuroplasticity piece is especially interesting as society continues to wade in an ever deeper and thicker soup of Alzheimer's and dementia - if you haven't already done so, check out Prof Craig Ritchie's research. (yes that guy!). There is a credible proposition that I've been "embracing the aesthetic" at a subconscious level for years and never realised it, whatever the outcome I would vouch that the hormones released are a baseline protection in the battle against the melancholy of modern life. Do you have any thoughts regarding the discovery / nurture of an aesthetic in relation to to children's and young adults education?
